Terms and Conditions

Last updated: May 14, 2026

These terms are the practical rules for using OCRQueen: accounts, API keys, document processing, billing, acceptable use, and the responsibilities on both sides.

Agreement to these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of OCRQueen, including the website, dashboard, playground, APIs, documentation, extraction services, billing flows, and related features.

By creating an account, signing in, generating an API key, uploading a document, or using the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent. If you do not agree, do not use OCRQueen.

The service

OCRQueen provides document extraction and document-intelligence tools that transform PDFs, presentations, images, and related document formats into structured output such as JSON, Markdown, text blocks, tables, chart data, image descriptions, and diagram representations.

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features as the product evolves. Beta, preview, playground, or experimental features may be less stable and may change without notice.

Accounts and authentication

You are responsible for keeping your account, OAuth login, sessions, API keys, and credentials secure. You must promptly rotate or revoke keys that may be exposed.

You may not share API keys publicly, embed private keys in client-side applications, or allow unauthorized users to access your account. Activity under your account or API keys may be treated as your activity.

We may require verified email, OAuth authentication, additional verification, or updated billing information before enabling or continuing access to certain features.

Customer content

You retain ownership of documents, files, prompts, extraction results, and other content you submit to OCRQueen. You grant OCRQueen a limited license to process, store, transmit, transform, and display customer content only as needed to provide, secure, debug, support, and improve the service.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights, consents, and legal basis to upload and process documents through OCRQueen, especially where documents contain personal data, confidential information, regulated data, or third-party intellectual property.

You should not upload content prohibited by law or content that you are not authorized to process.

Acceptable use

You may not use OCRQueen to violate laws, infringe rights, exfiltrate data, bypass security controls, reverse engineer non-public systems, overload the service, interfere with other customers, distribute malware, or process content that is unlawful or abusive.

You may not resell OCRQueen as a substantially similar competing extraction API without written permission. You may build products on top of OCRQueen for your own users, provided you comply with these terms and protect your users' data appropriately.

We may throttle, suspend, or terminate access if we believe usage creates security, legal, infrastructure, abuse, or platform-integrity risk.

API usage and rate limits

API access is subject to authentication, plan limits, rate limits, file-size limits, retention limits, and other operational constraints. Limits may differ by plan, endpoint, extraction profile, or environment.

You are responsible for handling API errors, retries, idempotency, timeouts, webhook verification, and result polling in your integration. You should not rely on undocumented behavior remaining unchanged.

We may monitor usage to enforce limits, prevent abuse, calculate billing, diagnose failures, and improve reliability.

Billing and payment

Paid usage is billed according to the pricing shown on the website, in the dashboard, in an order form, or in another written agreement with OCRQueen. Usage may be metered by page, extraction profile, feature, volume, or another disclosed unit.

You agree to pay all fees, taxes, and charges associated with your use of paid features. Payment processing may be handled by third-party billing providers.

Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where OCRQueen determines that a credit or refund is appropriate. We do not charge for jobs that fail due to OCRQueen's processing errors when our billing system identifies the failure.

Output accuracy

OCR and document extraction are probabilistic and may produce errors, omissions, formatting differences, or incomplete interpretations. OCRQueen may include confidence scores, provenance fields, faithfulness checks, or structured metadata to help you evaluate results, but you are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them.

You should not use OCRQueen output as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or other high-impact decisions without appropriate human review and independent verification.

Privacy and data protection

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, retain, and delete information. By using OCRQueen, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

If your use requires a data processing agreement, security review, data residency commitments, or other contractual controls, contact us before processing regulated or sensitive production data.

Intellectual property

OCRQueen and its software, branding, documentation, website, APIs, models, workflows, designs, and related technology are owned by OCRQueen or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of OCRQueen intellectual property to you.

You may use OCRQueen output and extraction results for your lawful business purposes, subject to your rights in the underlying customer content and these terms.

Feedback you provide may be used by OCRQueen to improve the service without obligation to you, unless we separately agree otherwise in writing.

Third-party services

OCRQueen may rely on third-party infrastructure, storage, billing, observability, OAuth, and AI providers. Your use of integrated third-party services may also be subject to those providers' terms and policies.

OCRQueen is not responsible for third-party services outside our control, but we choose providers with the goal of operating a reliable and secure platform.

Disclaimers

OCRQueen is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.

We do not guarantee that every document can be processed, that every extraction will be accurate, or that the service will meet every regulatory or customer-specific requirement without additional contractual commitments.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OCRQueen will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or substitute services.

Where liability cannot be excluded, OCRQueen's aggregate liability for claims relating to the service will be limited to the amount you paid to OCRQueen for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using OCRQueen at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, fail to pay amounts due, create security or legal risk, or use the service in a way that could harm OCRQueen, other customers, or third parties.

After termination, we may delete or retain data according to the Privacy Policy, retention settings, legal requirements, billing needs, security needs, and backup practices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as OCRQueen evolves. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice through the website, dashboard, email, or another appropriate channel. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
